  • Visionary and advocate of ethics and best practices for those advising seniors
  • Founding Member of Greater Denver Referral and Placement Alliance (GDPRA)
  • President of the National Placement & Referral Alliance (NPRA)

Cindy Koch is the President of the NPRA and first President and one of the founding members of the GDPRA, a trade organization for placement agents and senior living communities to create governance, best practices and education to help better serve our aging population.

Koch is a multi-passionate entrepreneur who has helped shape the industry of elder living into a viable and ethical industry. She works with heart to find holistic and well-considered solutions for elders, always ensuring their needs and goals are met.

Cindy has built several businesses in hospitality, real estate and now in the senior care industry and is the founder and owner of Aging at 5280, an organization that helps elders navigate the healthcare system and move into appropriate housing when living at home is no longer a viable option.

Colorado has experienced tremendous growth in the senior care scene the past few years and with that growth comes an influx of potentially poorly ill-informed advise for our elders in the community. Aging needs are often crisis-driven, making decision overwhelming and confusing.

Koch has a master’s degree from the University of Denver in Organization Management and Leadership and wrote her thesis on “Aging in Colorado”. With this as her guide, she opened a non-medical home care agency to participate in the healthcare space and to be a change agent to help individuals age in a more planned fashion. Koch learned quickly that change does not come easily in the healthcare space and understands education is the top to help us plan for aging. She holds seminars for seniors and adults children to anticipate the next steps and how to make time for aging conversations.

Koch is one of the first in the country to become a Certified Placement and Referral Specialist. She is married, has two grown step children and has a spirited blue healer named Phred. She is an avid skier, hiker, world traveler and reader.

Aging at 5280 is here to help elders and their families navigate through the healthcare system and customize a plan to meet their needs.

Koch enjoys speaking to audiences regarding best practices, servant leadership, and ethics for the ever changing environment that is Denver’s aging population.
